So far, what passage in the book reminded you of something you've done or felt? Explain why you connected to this passage and how it is important to the book. Use quotes from the story to help support your answer. Be sure to write a RARE response.
So far after 40 minutes I have a connection with Frank Gifford because he is talking about his football practice. He said people could hear the pads hit from the stands. Also I had to run sprints. He also said "the man-to-man contact.Thats what i've done in relation to Frank Gifford.
Something I have felt before is when Ruby is taking deep breaths.I take deep breaths when i get very tired from running really fast or doing a lot of stuff to do at once.It is important to the book because if she did not take deep breaths she would most likely die and she is one of the main characters in the story.Ruby could not figure out what was happening.Who killed Dr.Rama? Ruby was taking deep breaths.
The passage in the book that reminded me of something I've done is that when the protagonist, Titus, goes to the mall a couple of times with a girl he is sort of going out with, I imagine the Christiana Mall and Tyson's Corner (Tyson Mall). Both malls are a couple of levels worth of stores, such as simple one business stores, or commercial high-franchise stores, large food courts, and frozen yoghurt! In the book, Titus and Violet try to confuse and throw off their "feeds" (computer inside the brain) by looking at random, wild store merchandise all at once. When they do, they trick the "feeds" into thinking they're going to buy the merchandise, but they really won't. Therefore, people can't market to her on the feed because they see how she views all these weird merchandise, her profile would be so screwed with unusual items that they won't be able to advertise/catalog anything to her! A quote in the book says "Hear that? The music? (It was pop songs.) They have charts that show which chords are most thumbs-up. Music is marketing. They have lists of key changes that get 13 year old girls screaming. There's no difference between a song and an advertising jingle any more. Songs are their own jingle." Another quote says "...trying to create a customer profile that's so screwed, no one can market to it. I'm not going to let them catalog me." The two have a blast going around talking, and basically "window-shopping" for stuff that no one would ever buy and play around, such as buying dresses for Titus, who is a guy. Why I think of the Christiana Mall is because that is the main mall that my mom and I usually go to, and I would think they have a wide variety of stores.
