Think about what has happened in your story so far.  Based on this information, describe why  you believe your author wrote this story.  What was he/she trying to tell the reader?

Journal Entry #9
1) Identify 3  different sign posts.
2) Tell the page and the quote that supports your sign post
3) Explain your sign post.

Example:
Contradiction: pg 5 “The story was that the three skeletons, gleaming with phosphorescent light, danced over the small rock, screaming”
This quote shows a contradiction because the island the narrator is going to work on, is haunted.  Most people with common sense wouldn’t take a job somewhere where people have died, were eaten by birds, and now haunt the area.
